Central America, bathing before the dusty roads
The downside of hardcore adventures in Centroamerican backroads wearing a bikini only: the freaking dust is impossible to wash off. Two rounds in heavy duty stain remover, two rounds in washing machine, one round of soap and handwash. No effect. The bikini was turquoise; now it's brown-red stained turquoise, but not in a hip way.
NB: there will be no "after"-picture. The bikini looks like someone shat on it.
Also, functional layers protect from injuries and sun-burn. It's definitely a no-brainer to wear something over a bikini at all times. It's just not as glamourous.
